Creature concept, a mechanical monster peddling small woodland sculptures. Painted in photoshop/paintercomments and such! thanks!

lighter colors in the back is actually for depth. Things in the fg are darker than things in the back

This is a really cool concept. Personally, I like the backpack, with the little steam-punk chimney on it. Even if you do change it, I'd recommend keeping some element of technology, like a couple gnomish gears at least. It adds some interest.
Also the painting itself is quite nice. I like the placement and scale of the subjects. You could keep refining the details, maybe throw in a simple background, and you'd have one kickass piece!
