Ovid was definitely quite brilliant, though maybe a bit perverted. Of course, it's difficult to NOT find something perverted in Latin (as well as Greek) literature. We actually translated Pygmalion last year, along with a few others from Metamorphoses in my Latin class. This year we're doing Vergil's The Aeneid.
I'd looove to live in ancient Roman times. Such culture!

i like the way the old story is captured in such a modern environment, it makes the whole affair so topsy-turvy! as usual, the details give a killer effect, to think Pygmalion's studio plastered with green wall-paper, and fairy-paintings is a great (and fun) idea! but the best is the duck sitting on the table
