Thank you! Β  I recall this was a hard concept to convey- how does one represent alien consciousness?Β  I'm not sure I achieved that, but it is nice to look at.

Now that's a pretty awesome concept. And you can imagine anything you wish based on it, like a migration of aliens in nanorobotic bodies, or a kind of extragalactic communication channel, or a galactic scaled construction project. Who knows?

Thanks for sharing your ideas about what the migration might entail, I think you've got some inspired interpretations!Β  I'd felt that as a card assignment it was rather challenging to convey what was requested of me, especially at that size.Β  But, the silver lining is hearing how you've reacted to my painting, the undefined nature allowed room for your own interpretations.

it's truly alien and awesome, i love the light-years long migration of alien souls or consciousnesses, i like the green energy flows and the vague spirals on the conscious mass.

Thank you!!Β  When I got this assignment I had to laugh because it just seemed too abstract a concept to clearly express, especially at that scale.Β  Yet, you received it exactly as it was meant!

Thanks!Β  I recall that it was a very humid day when I painted this, there was so much moisture in the air that the acrylic took an unusually long time to dry- I could almost blend it like oil paint.

Great work. The picΒ isΒ dark, epic and the creature is mysterious and undefinable...

The perspective is really cool.

Thank you!Β  It was a hard concept to convey in an image, as everything about it is alien so there is very little hand-hold for relating to what is going on in the painting.Β  What does consciousness look like?Β  Then, what does alien consciousness look like??

Thanks Dave! Yes, it does have that feel to it... the polyps seem to have the classic Lovecraftian anatomy- all the "good bits"

Thanks, Scott! I found this one a bit tricky, not only the challenge of depicting alien consciousness, but also rendering something which seemingly has no real mass.

More to come, I just need to keep it under wraps just a little longer....

Amazing perspective. Looks very "cosmic" in a very lovecraftian way. I love the green lights around the creature's body.

Thank you, Matteo! I had to break some rules to convey the sense of perspective, at least according to how I think it might actually look in space. Generally the atmosphere dulls colors and reduces focus, but without an atmosphere I think it would risk looking very flat.

If cthuloid beings can't break some space perspective rules, who can? Personally I approve your choice, Paul. The result is great!

True, they pretty much wrote the book on all things non-Euclidean, so what a little distortion of space perspective between a few friends?
