Personality:
Hikaru is very complex and mysterious. He often doesn't talk much and rarely initiates social interaction unless needed. He is quite an introvert and is more comfortable by himself... or with just a small group of people. He likes to do things on his own because it makes him feel he is in control of the situation. He is also very intelligent and studious. He is also a fast-learner. He is a perfectionist and will not settle for mediocrity -- He isn't competitive though and he hates conflict that's why as much as possible he distances himself from people.
Even though he is aloof, he is quite intuitive and observant of people's feelings, but he doesn't really care...just that reading people entertains him. He is very secretive and he rarely opens up to people, but he will if he trusts them enough. Despite him having a cold exterior, he is very loyal with people he has a deep bond with and can be very passionate and dedicated. He would care for them in his own weird way -- which would sometimes look awkward and will be mistaken as anything but caring. He can get very possessive and jealous though, and is also very resentful. He will always look for a way to get back at the people who dare insult or treat him badly.

Bio:
Hikaru is an only-child. His mom, who is a world-famous flutist, is half-Russian and half-Japanese which explains his green-bluish eyes. His father, a respected conductor in the music industry, is full Japanese though and is a native of Osaka (which is their current residence). Having very busy parents who always go on tours and rarely comes home, Hikaru grew up to be a very independent and self-sufficient person. He rarely needed the help of their servants and often shooed them away whenever they meddle with his business.
As a child, Hikaru had difficulty with getting along with the other kids... as they would be intimidated by his aloof demeanor and his unresponsiveness. No one really bothered to approach him, but he is fine with that. He doesn't need other people anyways and he can get through his life without the help of anyone, as he would always say to himself.
He developed his talent in music at the age of 5 when his mother decided to teach him how to play the flute. He had been enamored to the instrument ever since and dedicated his free alone time to mastering the flute... which he did so at the age of 10. After that, he started trying another wind instrument which is the clarinet. Him being a fast-learner, made it easy for him to master the clarinet as well. He also has keen sense of hearing and can memorize tunes easily, and that is how he discovered that he is actually a good singer -- though he never actually performed in front of people and will never.
It was inevitable that he would enroll to Ongaku Academy as he always seen himself being like his mom, but he didn't like the idea of playing for an audience as he had always treated playing instruments as something that is only for his own entertainment. Now, he is on his 3rd year and he survived without even knowing what was his roommates' names... as they would always want a transfer to another room because of his hostility. They aren't important to him anyways. He just wants to excel and graduate from the academy as a highly-trained musician and an honors student.
