It is a great picture. By isolating the trunk and arms, you have seemingly elongated the form; thus attenuating the already skinny proportions on show. There is a sense of reticence in the folding of your arms around your stomach - almost suggesting the love/hate dialogue in anorexia, the love of control, yet hate of appearence. It could also be a literal depiction of the tenderness (if not outright gut wrenching pain) one feels from starving themself.

I also really like the details on the crook of the arm where the skin is pinched down by your hands- it is very effective! It appears that the skin is stretched taught, but also appears almost unnatural- like folds of material, or drapes. I think there is a lot of meaning there, whether it was intentional or not

Grayscaling the picture makes sense given the context; it makes me think of how a single minded focus on becoming the ideal of 'perfect' , bleaches the rest of the world of its meaning, hence the lack of colour.

Over all, I would say that this picture really achieves its desired effect. You could possibly explore it further, but I like the fact that it is not too extreme. It says a lot without resorting to contortions or extremes.

I interpret as a view of the torment they feel. They are starving so they clutch their stomach in hunger; but they hide the outside world from what can make the stomach whole again. The arms and hands protect the body from things that may bring on the pain. Things that insult their body, insult their person on not being exactly "perfect".
It is an artwork to portray the conflict of instinct and raw emotion. Beautiful photography as always Nikolas Benjamin B.
