Prismatically, yes - that is gorgeously colored. Actually, the legs, body structure and tail are quite beautiful in their own fashion - among its own kind it might be a stunner.

Cool blend of elements in this creature - from bovine to anthropoid, squid, toad and rolly polly all in one. I envy your instinct for fascinating color blends- and the sketches of other beasties in the background are just wonderfull. Nice to see someone else doing monsters with ballpoint pen!

thank you for your thoughtful feedback! I feel like pen makes me analyze my work differently and treat my linework with more forethought

No problem, always happy to give it - and I agree about penwork. Not being able to erase kind of forces you to think and to commit. That and I find there's a certain amount of pride in knowing that you dont HAVE to erase, you have the confidence to get it right the first time (heh, or the creativity to make the mistakes work anyway).

Exactly! Its funny tho I think my penwork started out on receipt paper at work when I was bored as it was my only means of artistic input at a crappo job.

Wow - sound familiar. Of course pretty much all my jobs have been crappo jobs. Heh, I have two degrees but they're both useless in this economy . . . .

Yeah, pens are incredibly mobile and don't break in your pockets as easily as pencils do - so they allow you to work pretty much anywhere, anytime. Heh, at Best Buy a manager still has my reciept tape crosshatched from memory attempt at the scene on the Sistene Chapel where God is reaching out to touch Adams finger -
with of course the subtitle: "Pull my finger".

Reciept tape works beautifully for such things.
