Description My City . Hong Kong S.A.R.
HDR image with 1.3ev steps . Canon 400D . 10mm

Photomatix Pro and Photoshop. You know, I love the mixture of old and new elements, and the mixture of western and oriental. This is my city, and this is the place I always love. Hope you like this.

I just love it, that kind of "peaceful, easy feeling" to (one of?) the most hectic city(cities?) on Earth... My ex-girlfriend lives half the time here, and I wanted to order a print for her birthday... Is that remotely possible?

ni hao,

Wonderful Capture, the vivid colors of the boats, water and the interest of the building create a masterful capture.

Beautiful. I've read about the strong Feng Shui elements incorporated in the city planning, and an example was HSBC buying out the buildings in front of it and tearing them down just to be in sync- i.e the mountains in the back with the shore in front is supposed to be positive.

I couldn't figure out exactly what it'd look like but I posted the building in your photo and now I know. Thanks!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

niteangel In reply to mr-vig [2007-11-11 08:10:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, and it has more fengshui elements inside it. They have a giant fish tank at the top floor in order to create a balance between them and Bank of China, because the Bank of China tower is like a blade, which is not a nice symbol to be sitting next to HSBC.

Everything is so meticulously planned out so everything works. Got to love that sort of spiritual dedication.

couleur [2007-09-22 03:09:19 +0000 UTC]

you might want to trim it a little in photoshop and make some contrast, because it looks quite flat due to the haze.

This is a great pic. I really like the contrast of the bright energetic colours in the foreground, as opposed to the metallic, almost lifeless colours of the city backdrop. It makes for a great study in culture.

Nicely shot, and that skyline can't be beat anywhere else in the world. By the way I saw you got the new iMac, very tight!

niteangel In reply to alphakx [2007-09-12 02:11:34 +0000 UTC]

Thanks

And yeah, the new iMac is really good! I have dual-booted it with Vista but that Vista is so unstable and it crashes in my Mac! so I just go ahead with Mac to do nearly everything now...and yeah, it does make my table much more spacious!

How are you doing?
