Epic fan of Mass Effect; this is certainly nice!  Though I also think it looks a little jaggier and techno-rubbly.  Good use of light and texture to suggest motion and depth!  If you did this in Photoshop, you can blur in one direction to make the motion more apparent.  (Well, I find it effective for stills, but simply a horror in video.)

Man...I have the talent for writing (proof of this on a lot of the art I've done, that my writing is exceptional). I mean hell I can write and tell stories...But this digital painting style is drawing me in more and more. If I had a digital artists that would work me, imagine the level of work that would get done. But I'm guessing I would have to be that dudes very best friend for him to do it free of charge and just for the fun and love of working on a project together.

Well, of course, you can't just simply jump to that level, you need lots and lots of practice, ya know :d. Why not try plan a scene like this and just go try it .

Trust me, if I wasn't lazy as hell I would. But see I'm more of a Executive/Producer type. I do a lot of writing and I seriously can never have the time of day to work on something of that large scale. I mean granted I work with a program that makes work easier for me to do when I need to quickly create characters and such for my projects. But doing something like this would take me some time and I mean serious time. I am pretty much the only person in my own studio that does everything. You should see how long the character profiles really are. I do them all in Power Point, and almost every character I've done so far has a profile including the unimportant ones. So yeah it is a lot of work, my writing takes up more time than anything. So I've been trying to get a team together to work on things that are larger than life. But I'm fully aware that will take awhile. I mean beginners and people that can't really do much are always eager to help, but the people that are extremely good. Not much. Makes me wish I had friends that were excellent artists.

Haha, I see, I'm lazy too, but the reason I don't do stuff like this is because I don't have a mouse or tablet, so I can't paint at all (Using touchpad sucks, it hurts my fingers). This would take some time, it depends on what you think or know as serious time. For me I think 24hrs is quite serious, I see some people do 70hrs though, so hey . Oh so you are a writer? What genre?
I see you must be very busy, so it is understandable, this type of art takes ages normally :d. Haha I wish I had the same friends which are excellent artists. I would then at least get some help on how to improve lol xd.

I write mostly Science fiction, Crime Thrillers, and Gothic Horror, Psychological Horror, Gothic Fantasy, and sometimes Dark Romance. But so far I've been working on the same two stories for a very long time. I strongly believe that my work has a lot of potential. Art on this scale would serve me a purpose because I need someone to develop the city for me where my stories take place. The city Kaidan in my story Ghost Runner is pretty much Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bronx, Manhattan, Osaka, Beijing, Bangkok, Brasov, Shanghai, and other major cities all rolled into one in the year 2070 so imagine how large of a scale such a vast place would be with all the Neon Lights, symbols, and extreme night life themes scattered.
There are places influenced by other fictional places like the Slums in Final Fantasy 7 influenced the slum idea I created called Hanbei Avenue in Dragon Street which is the Chinese Ghetto within Sector 3 of Kaidan. I wanted a vast society of all sorts of thriving cultures and people from the world. This isn't some space opera story like Star Wars so there are no Aliens or anything like that. Instead of Aliens there are Androids present, some Cyborgs, and Psychological forces that reside in the story. So I would say its pretty much like Blade Runner meets The Matrix Meets Ghost In The Shell Meets Parasite Eve Meets Enemy of the State because of all the heavy influences on extreme technology and Evolution. You blend that stuff together and you either have a mess of a story or one hell of a crazy journey unlike anything else in the world.

Ah I see, I like the genres you write haha. Sci fi is for me >. I'm sure if you put your mind to it and have been working at it for so long, it would definitely turn out well, just make sure to never give up on it (If you've ever seen the story on how Harry Potter was rejected multiple times).
Definitely art would help people visualize the place, If only I had a tablet I could paint some up ._.. I see, so it's like a mega city then, it's a nice kind of world if you develop it, I would love to read it. You could have a story by going through all these different cultures and places. I like crazy stories haha .

This reminds me of both my friend and of Isaac Asimov (I believe my friend is inspired by him). He's a sci fi writer, now dead. But I loved his books (He wrote I, robot and the Foundation series). He has things like yours, he has certain sectors within a ecumenopolis (A city covering an entire planet). His city goes deep down in the Earths crust and mantle I think, and also has domes covering whole cities that have artificial atmosphere etc (The domes are high enough that if you look up, it looks like sky). He went through certain sectors that had different cultures and things it was pretty interesting. Furthermore, "he had colonized" the entire galaxy, so there were different kind of worlds with different cultures etc. Reminds me of what you said with all those heavy influences combined xd.

Oh yeah man, I heard about that author getting rejected a lot...Now if you look at Harry Potter its up there with there with Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and all the other major popular works that have had successful film franchises, books, and even toy lines. For me Ghost Runner alone is a starting point, when I go through my artwork sometimes it looks highly generic compared to the level of work that you do and all the material in my favorites list when it boils down to art work. I do a lot of chapter overviews mostly, and have written in my blog about a lot of the things that I do and why I do it. To me I think my work has potential, I just need better tools to work with. Harry Potter is a novel, and pretty much the author was rejected because the publishers she was trying to get to notice her work were idiots and didn't want to give the poor woman a damn chance to show what she was capable of. I feel this way too myself, people don't realize the level of detail that goes into work I do. I look at my comments section on my work and see 0's and that can make a person feel like their not very good. You would think someone will take notice of the writing at least and that would give them a second thought on the art work itself. And I do pride myself on being the best I can, I mean your only 17 and your exceptionally good. You can get hired by one of the big studios with that skill level. I mean if you don't use a tablet, how do you create your artwork?

Yeah, it's good that you have a goal, something to aim for. For my work well, I just guess I was obsessed with photoshop for some time haha. Neglected my studies a little bit which was a bad idea. By the way, what do you mean better tools to work with? As in art tools?
Harry Potter was rejected also because some publishers think it was a bad story. Well funny that.
Many people probably feel the same way about your book possibly in the same fashion they think of Harry Potter, but hey, the author didn't give up, and neither should you . I know what you mean when you see your works, and then there are just 0's. That happened to me when I first started out, but I never let that get me down. (I guess I'm inspired by the anime Naruto haha, about not giving up, you should give it a watch if you have free time, it was better than I thought it was. The first parts are a little slow though).
It's good trying to be the best you can, I do that too haha. Sometimes I take LOTS of time just to try get something right to make it the best I can.
Instead of a tablet, I use a touchpad. Yes it is terrible to use, my fingers hurt after like 5 minutes lol, whereas I need to paint for a few hours to get a good result, thus I photo-manipulate more often than paint. Usually I only paint small details, for instance in "Boundaries" and "Materia", I painted the buildings by scratch, I had to zoom in as touchpad is really... how should I say this. Terrible at control. Like I will try draw a straight line, but it goes all squiggly etc. Normally if I'm making simple curves the pen tool on photoshop does the trick, it allows you to make nice curves, although it is limited.
