Indeed it is all in the same building... I am not sure how it *used* to be but the "Hendrix" part seems quite small relative to the whole building - basically a longish room with a smallish collection of guitars, some wardrobe items and a few other bits of memorabilia.

There was a similar space dedicated to Nirvana / Seattle Grunge and it felt like there was more raw material on Nirvana et al than on Hendrix.

The Sci-Fi part is, I think, somewhat a rotating exhibit - when I was there, old Battlestar Galactica props and a brand new Avatar section were the feature exhibits.

The building as an art object I found stunning. I have never been to another Gehry building - and even though this one is relatively small, it's still fascinating the way it folds in and back and around on itself.

I took a million shots but nothing that does it justice.

I'm a big Hendrix fan, so the Hendrix part of the museum sounds a bit disappointing. And I'm a SciFi fan as well, and actually the SciFi part of the museum sounds a bit disappointing as well.

Guess maybe the structure is the best thing about it.
