It seems impossible for me to make fanart based on the original material these days. This one's based on a fantastic Portal fanfic called Blue Sky: [link]
asdfghjlkho I can't get this story out of my head. Normally I'd be all UGH fanfiction and UGH human Wheatley but this story makes it believable. Plus it has some really nice character interaction. I feel happy reading it like I do when I'm watching Enchanted. Kinda cheesy but adorable.
I went with the common Stephen Merchant caricature human Wheatley design that seems to be going around these days. He's ridiculously fun to draw, actually. And Chell probably doesn't have hips like that but. Oh well.

I was googling how to become an intern at Pixar and after oogling through their website I came across you and it made me so happy for you to hear that you got your internship there! That's amazing! Hurray! Your art is amazing and you totally deserved to have all your dreams come true like that! I have ALWAYS dreamed of working there too so I would have reacted the same way. I looked at your Blue Sky drawing and started doodling myself similar to it, and you're right, he is quite fun to draw. haha. What did you do to draw this piece? What software and everything did you use? I JUST now joined this site and this would be my first comment so hopefully you see it because I don't really know how else to get in touch with you.

I feel as though I should properly thank you for drawing this picture, instead of my usual silent admiration.
I remember seeing this when it was first posted, finding it absolutely adorable, of course. But your artist's comments also caught my attention, and for the first time I was genuinely curious about reading a fanfiction. I'd made a mental note of it and tucked it away in the back of my mind, thinking I'd take a look once I finally got around to playing the actual game.
Just this past week, my friend bought me Portal 2, and I was just so hooked that I played through it within 2 days. The ending, while it certainly was an adequate ending, left me kind of empty on the inside. It didn't feel like the end, like I was missing something. And somewhere in the recesses of my memory I recalled this lovely little picture, and through some digging, found it again, and ultimately Blue Sky. And it is certainly one of the most heart-warming, well-written works I've had the pleasure of reading. I feel like I've finally reached a satisfying ending.
And I must thank you, for introducing me to this wonderful story with your wonderful art~

If you're looking for super Chelley fluff this isn't the story for you (the fluff is mostly at the end), but it's a *great* story and the characters are written amazingly. I'm not a fan of Chelley and I still loved it.

Very nice! Wheatley looks especially well done (and, as natural, absolutely adorkable!), and while Chell looks slightly odd (mainly the face and the proportion of her legs to the rest of her body), it's not really much of a problem, and she still looks good in her own, somewhat chibi-ish way. You also have a very good handle on light, shade and highlighting.
Ah, Blue Sky! Peoples have been chatting about it in my Tumblrs, and I've been meaning to read it but I never get round to it.

I actually don't particularly care for the fanfiction after the first few chapters, but you're right. The character interaction is pretty well written. DIS PICTURE, THOUGH. The lighting, the characters, the coloring. Too cute to take. Very nice interpretations on both of them.
