Over at InkBunny, there was a series about Deadland in a hell of a future. Half the continent was a scar of nuclear waste. At the center was the ruin of Plutonium City now a mass of nuclear matter. Radiation was so intense that nothing normal could survive it -unless they mutated.
Yet, there were inhabitants.
Mutant super-kids who went mostly naked. They could,at will, turn into nuclear bombs and detonate, to destroy some monster chasing them. There were also mercenaries. At the supply depots, one MIGHT see the super-kids stealing an A-bomb to play with.
