Female Springbok, Etosha National Park, Namibia 2010.

We were on our way to our camp (Halali) and decided to deviate to see one of the natural watering holes on the salt pan-side. We found this little creature drinking up the small puddle of water there was.
Maybe you can tell from the photo (which I edited in a way to stay true to what we actually saw), but the sun was very high up and very strong. It is rainy season now (and then too) but the grass was pretty much the dull green you see because the rains hadn't properly started yet.

The springbok is currently the national animal of South African and the symbol of their rugby team.
