I was up til 2 last night and then woke up at 5 this morning and worked til 7 and have now worked on this since I got home from school obsessively. Why? Because I've had so much fun with this! XD I've been looking for an excuse to draw a suggested Raven/Starfire pairing for ages, and I finally got one; the new contest hosted by to draw a cover for a doujinshi/Japanese fan-made comic.Unfortuantely, I can't write in Japanese, and I can't arrange well in English. So I made a Korean comic!
I can't write very well in Korean, actually, so I had a friend help me. If you see any blaring errors in grammer/spelling, please tell me! Roughly translated, it says in the green text at the top, "Interrupted Meditations" and "Volume 1" beneath it in black, with "Teen Titans" on the side margin.Anyhow. Basically, the guys are off somewhere, and Starfire is feeling bored and neglected, so she's trying to get Raven's attention without blatantly distracting her from her meditation. o.o;; I think Raven's about to bite her. ...I also just wanted to draw Starfire in a hoody, because I thought she'd look cute in something baggy for once. ^_^;
Done on Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. Clocked at, holy crap, at least 8 hours, and in 34 layers.

It had taken a long time, but Kori had finally learnt patience and could wait out her friend's meditation. She had always respected Friend Rachel's right to privacy but, with time, she had come to understand that true friendship was as much about when not to be there as it was being there for your friends.
Besides, there was something about seeing her troubled human friend so at peace that also stilled a troubling voice in her own heart.

I am not familiar with Photoshop (I am a wordsmith myself; I have difficulty drawing a straight line with a CAD program), so I don't know what you mean by "layers," nor am I familar with Korean (except that I can usually tell it from Japanese or Chinese when I see it written), but I do know what I like, and this I like. Raven trying to decompress and control her emotions at the same time ... Starfire looking half-ashamed at something (somehow, I get a vibe like the poodle dog I had when I was a teenager ... who always had this nervous thing when he did something wrong while we were all out of the house) ... and just a touch of "Blade Runner" film noir. Technical merit is also quite high, at least to this old man's mind. Well done.

I don't see why not ("I rarely get such nice comments anymore [sic]"). Whether we agree on philosophy, politics or religion, art should be judged on the merits of the art ... the message it's trying to communicate should be judged by itself. The medium is not the message. You can have a good message, and lousy media; you can have a frightful message, and excellent media; you can have any of the four possible permutations thereof.
As art, this was good stuff. Whether I approve of your message -- if indeed there was any message meant; I wasn't looking for one -- is not the issue.
