First appearance: Donkey Kong 64 (1999)

Mad Jack from ”Donkey Kong 64”. He is a depraved jack-in-the-box manufactured inside the ominous Frantic Factory. Being deemed too evil for the factory’s standards (a factory already infamous for creating dangerous toys, no less), Mad Jack was subjected to the factory’s reject chute, where our pint-sized hero Tiny Kong confronts him.
By jumping across platforms, throwing fireballs, and shooting laser beams from his cybernetic eye, this malicious mannequin will find outmost delight in making your childhood nightmares come true!

Mad Jack was certainly an interesting and unique concept, both design- and battle-wise. His design is cool and creepy, and the fight is probably the second trickiest fight in the game (King K. Rool’s fight takes the first place), but really fun and creative nonetheless.
And despite DK64’s wacky nature, this battle was oddly symbolic with a little kid fighting an enormous monstrous toy, sort of representing the act of overcoming your fears at a young age.
The music that plays during the fight is probably the most iconic boss track from the game, and with good reason: an epic remix of the already splendid and creepy theme of Frantic Factory.
