They might be only shadows, but when they bleed,

I would tell you to look, it's so beautiful,
but your eyes never quite open wide enough
to see
beauty in fallen trees.
Climb up and sail down
On the wind with borrowed wings.
Transparent painted designs, that catch your eyes only as they disappear.
They leave a trail of blue ink...
Follow it into the hall,
Footprints set in sand
And as the worm becomes the butterfly-
the sand becomes the stepping stone.
