I was just about to go to bed when I realized it was Friday, meaning I needed to update! Totally forgot... sometimes it gets tough remembering to update all my sites. For that reason, I'm rethinking how I do my Japanese site, which has largely been ignored since I got promoted on Inkblazers. Bad webmistress, very naughty!
I made a really silly mistake on one of these pages... I was so embarrassed when I caught it later D:
No, the mistake is not Arma's hair magically growing long again XD That's just MAGIC.

I figured this is a good point to go back and see what I missed the first time through. I think I may have found one hint about the identity of the new villain. ^_^

It wasn't a deliberate Azumanga reference but I did think about it while I was drawing it, so some influence crept in I'm sure, heh.
I have left at least two hints about who the new villain is, one in the first volume and one in the second. I don't think I left more than that, but two were very deliberate "hint hint" moments.

Wonderful, she has the same colors as well. Looks like Arma could be someone originally from the place these Armadillos livev. Too bad they're the smallest kind.

There is one other fairy armadillo I think but I haven't found a photo of it.
Ah, it would be neat if I revealed that Arma was South American... there aren't many South American characters in comics/manga, haha. I always thought of her as Middle Eastern for some reason, though... not that I really had an ethnicity in mind for her when I designed her, but yeah.

It might make sense for Arma to come from a jungle place like South America, considering where the story first took place in "Nope I'm Outta Here -Istan." Currently it looks like they're in Europe. From what I read so far it looks like not everyone originated from the same place so it can be open to interpretation until otherwise stated.

I never specify where they live exactly in the story, but they are definitely supposed to be of different ethnic backgrounds. "Brainless" for example has always been eastern-Asian in my mind, with "Bu-Bu" being Mediterranean... nothing specific, just enough to add a little diversity to the team. A bit down the road I have a few more dark-skinned characters in the story...
Arma does seem like she would fit with a South American background. Maybe I'll go ahead and just say she's South American XD It would certainly reinforce the armadillo image, haha. I think her name is even Spanish (well, originally Latin, but I think "arma" is also the word for "weapon" in Spanish).

Sounds like there should be a table of this sometime. I can only remember Arma, Lamia, Vox, and that tiny girl the best.
And according to my translator, Arma is Latin and Spanish for "weapon," or "arm(s)," as in armory type of arms.

A table? Like a chart or something? I think the characters are a little hard to remember just because they don't all have their names yet. I keep meaning to make updated bios for everyone, but... I have like no time for that, haha.

If Arma (weapon) is literally the God of War, I'm not sure where Lamia mess illusion, maybe deceit. Maybe Brainless has something to do with turning people stupid, like zombies or something. Dang, we might have a successor to the Lich King in the making.

Lamia's name is synonymous with "witch" in Latin, but in Arabic her name means "brilliance". Plus there is a legend of a queen named Lamia who was beautiful but turned into a snake monster and ate all these men she seduced XD
Brainless, when she gets her real name, does have a name that has to do with her power.

Yeah, that's one reason she has long hair as a Guardian but short in her civilian garb. She keeps cutting it because it gets in the way, but she'll learn that she won't be able to stop her hair from growing out as a Guardian. As a Guardian she looks a little more like a girl this way, which I think helps enforce a little more Girl Powerrrr! attitude, haha.
Yeah, that's the main reason I cut it. Though there is a gruesome murder in Ch. 9 that will be interesting to draw.

Yup! She got bit on her left hand but I drew her right hand big like it was pulsing in pain... not sure how I made that mistake. By the time I caught it I had already started on tones though.

Haha this is an ongoing webcomic of mine. Glad you like the sword, but that's actually a girl wielding it! She's meant to be very masculine though, haha. The other girls in this story look more feminine with big boobies and whatever, but they don't get fancy swords so their loss, heh.
