My half of a trade with the fantastic KayKayKit 8D I still can't believe I got the chance to trade with her... I've wanted to for like, years x3 KAY YOU ARE UNTOUCHABLE XDD;Anyway, these are her characters, Lylaki, and of course her beautiful fursona. At first I was just going to draw Lylaki, but it looked like she was running aimlessly in chase of some imaginary...thing. And I didn't like it D: So I added in Kae to turn it into a snowy game of tag :3
Sorry this took so long D: I had sketched this out several times before I found one that I liked. So basically I'm sorry for the horrid background x__X I am trying to get better at doing backgrounds, and as you can see I really need the practice. I didn't use a tutorial for anything here. This was all experimentation =/ So hopefully you'll focus on the characters instead of the ugly background.
Critique for the background pleaaase? Not the characters, I know they aren't that good, since I used crap shading ;__; But any advice on improving the background would be muchly appreciated

I think it's mostly the clouds that need work, they look randomish and I think during snowyness they're all over the place... more... o_o; lol. >>; or, more on top. huh. yes.

As for the backround... although I would have no idea how to do it, all I can suggest is mabye try and make it seem a bit more solid? -shrugs- Its amazing so I'm not good for crits x3

Hmm I think the yellow fluffy clouds look too light for the sky.. I dunno that mucha bout snow.. even though it does snow in Ohio.. 8D

It's so cute! ^___^ I like the lightness of it all... looks like they're playing tag in the clouds rather than, well, I dunno, on earth? xD It looks like a moment captured in time; everything is moving--the characters, the falling snow...
One critique for the bg: It's all kind of very fuzzy, and the characters stand out too much so they look a little detached from the pic... making the pawprints and some of the snow a little sharper would be better, I think...
Otherwise, it's beautiful.

Awww, I love it!! The shading isn't bad at all. xD I like it, it's full of motion, and that's good for this piece since they are in motion! And i think you go all of their markings right, so that's awesome! 8DD

Ever seen a snow storm (I dunno where ya live, so just gotta ask xD; )? When it snows, the entire sky is clouded over, not just a few clouds (it's not like rain hehe). And everything would be more.. darker.. and sometimes more purplish/bluish. Check out pics on google for snow storms. Using refs always help! 8D I use them all the time. <3 anyways, totally approved by me XD overal, it's awesome!

Yeah, I thought I made it look more like rain D: I was going for a more "fluffy falling snow" that happens during the day, and it's all bright and such outside... rather than a storm. But neither idea really came across XD; Anyway, thankies for the crits
