John Berkey's works are certainly similar to Chris Foss designs.

I mean... they both painted big spaceships! But they also had very unique signatures that make them quite different. Look at some of Berkey's spaceships and tell me that I'm not clearly right. I guarantee the artist who made this 3D model would tell you the same thing.

I just ran a little search. The Wordpress blog you link to (he seems like a nutter!) misattributes another Berkey painting (my favourite Berkey painting actually) as a Chris Foss. Interestingly, the 3D model was created by the legendary John Knoll for a film called 'Fractalus' by Jim Byrkit. No mention of who inspired the design, but like I say, I have no doubt.
