Description
This is a really silly map of all the places immediately affected by the eruption of Laki. I would have drawn more people on it but I couldn't fit them.

To repeat myself a bit, the volcanic ash from the eruption spread throughout the western Northern Hemisphere, blotting out the sun and generating famines and severely cold temperatures pretty much all over. Apparently the Mississippi River froze. o_o The fluorine and sulfur dioxide spread to Europe as well, killing thousands and thousands of people. Of course Iceland itself got the worst of it, with about a fourth of the population dying from either famine or fluorine poisoning, and at least half the livestock on the island died, too.

I almost feel bad for making light of it. But not enough to keep me from doing it.

The ash is brought to you by charcoal. The map is intentionally stylized, but I'm sure I made severe geographic mistakes. Especially on the North American coast, that was just fail.
