hahahaha. Thanks dude.I made this almost three years ago when my art was still flickering on and off.I made this with this crap-tablet.It was of Wacom's older models that used a bluetooth module, and to be honest...it was an overpriced chunk of shit.Cintiq, nigga. Cin-fuckin-tiq.
So you are coming out of hiatus now? What new stuff do you have in mind?

Well, I really have to work on my Nekocon 9 Doujinshi and then begin working on the Hentai equivalent/sidestory of it. I'm sure you remember me linking everyone to previews of the cover art right? Well the script was written far earlier than I even drew that piece, and thanks to Megan's critiquing and helping me out it feels solid. I just have to draw it all out and I have plenty of Hentai on board to help me with anatomy, poses, angles, ideas, pairings, movement, motion...
Putting my interest of hentai aside, I have more than enough material to help me out with the work I intend to put up (on what site I'm not sure..maybe blogspot since they don't mind you putting hentai up). Then there comes the idea that I want to PUBLISH both works into doujinshi-sized works and eventually sell both at conventions. I'm not sure who to go to or where to get them published, or even how. Way back when I was working on the doujinshi EVERY SINGLE DAY I had posted previews on Nekocon's forums and message boards; I had the chairman himself telling me he'd pay to read my work because he loved what he was reading. THAT got me pumped....still does.
For other works...going to draw a tribute image of Justin Chatwin as Goku; DragonBall style. Possibly DragonBall Z style but I'll figure it out.
Also thinking of a parody image to Dr.Steel and my strong dislike for how it seems he's oddly 'brainwashed' some of my friends into thinking it's cool to say "fuck off" to everything mankind has discovered in the past hundred years and just to have fun.
Long story short...he's some musician who has taken the route of 'recruiting' people to listen to his message of world domination. Or something like that. Mind you the man is 100% serious too; I don't fucking get it.

I absolutely love the small details that make the picture/drawing special most of the time they go un-noticed but that's what i like to look for.
The first thing my eyes were drawn to were the bands around her arms, simple but still very nice. Then i was drawn to the cuffs around her wrists, very nice, did you use those spiffy textures in photoshop for them? If so, do you happen to remember which one?

so it took so long for me to get back to you....I havn't been in town for over a week and half.
I labored over this pic for over a week and half.It had been a long long time since I did something articulate, something I could indulge in.I was particularly grateful to the Muses for giving me the chance to create a new piece. So thank you.
The backdrop was a new technique I taught myself in order to create rocky prison cell walls. It starts out as a simple 'clouds' filter and several masks and channels that get blended into a separate photoshop image that I made with this technique in mind.

lol, I appreciated the love I get for this piece...but to tell you the truth, this pic is nothing but parlor tricks. If you want, I can point you in the direction of where you can learn such techniques...or teach you them myself. As I said, it is not much, I usauly try to capture my audiance with emotional content, rather than beauty.Check out my gallery, you'll see.

Well I'm also pretty much photoshop-retarded. The most I've figured out is how to get one layer. ;; It's quite sad. But I meant mostly from the line-art is what I love, I look more-so at line art then coloring.

well sure, because that is the foundation of a masterpiece in the making, just imagne the potential that such a pic could possess if one were so inclined as to push it to it's limits?
Being comfortable with your style is okay for the moment, it allows you to hone your skills and makes it a base of operations for other things as well. But, in order to accend above others and become the artistic badass that we all want to be, we gotta all take that terrifying first step into uncharted territory.(and it is just that...horrifying.)What is cool about this is that concept applies to many other things that extend beyond art.and if you apply this little lesson to where it would most beneficial...then it becomes something else enitirly, and the people around you will take notice sooner or later.Once that first step is conquered, it is only a matter of time before confidence grows..and when that happens...it's gonna be a great day! lol
alright, enough with the prophetic rambling...I just wish you the best of luck with your art!

Awesome picture.. the contrasts in lighting give it a lot of depth, and make it stand out... amazingly.
It's like the kind of anime art that you know they spent money on.. as opposed to the ones where they called in the second string of artists to throw some filler at you.. you know?
Heh.
It's awesome dude.
Good job on the chains too. Seems a small thing to throw out there, but small details help a picture so much.

Nice work Chris, you finally got some recognition on your pieces. Not hurry and put some of my shit up there. The people have been waiting far too long! HAHAH!!

very true. When it comes to games (escpecially horror games) you can analyize it and see what movies were involved:
God of War-Clash of the Titans,Jason and the Argonauts, ect.
Call of Duty-Saving Private Ryan
Dead Rising-Dawn of the Dead
Condemned-Seven, Suspect Zero,Donnie Darko ect
it's all been done before....the trick is to spin it in a direction noone had ever seen it before.Modern day example....Brokeback Mountain. It's a love story that has been done before, but it has never been told in such a fashion.and so, that movie had balls/guts/audacity/ect.

that is very true....if you replaced the two guys with two straight people it wouldn't have had the same effect....movie and game producers are very tricky...
