Description
This is a tribute to once of my favorite comic book story lines. I have very strong memories of reading these issues as a kid, and as I now reread them as an adult, the emotions of watching earth's greatest hero fall against the ultimate killing machine still leaves me devastated. The Reign of The Supermen arc is just as intense, as we are left with a new crop of "Supermen" Some claiming to be the original, some just taking up the mantle due to respect. Great work. Love it.
The Reign of Superman is one of my favorite comic books as well. What's so great about it is the controversy that neither is true Superman, up until the real one returns. Not to mention that this story along with The death of Superman and Funeral for a friend, they feel like one epic trilogy, right?

It really did. It was one of the best sotry arcs in comics at the time. The only other one at the time that came close was Knightfall and The Clone Saga.

Yeah,and you also had the Venom lethal protector saga which I adore.
But going back to Superman, The death and return of Superman is one of the best comics ever.

It is really solid. I like Superman/Doomsday Hunter Prey which they released a year later. The 3 issues series had Doomsday vs. Darkseid, and Superman with PTSD due to his battle and subsequent death. A really good read.

Yeah, that was a big moment in the publication history. Β Lots of stories can break our hearts as fans, but this one definitely put everyΒ Superman fan's heart through the paper shredder and in the steel mill.
Y'know, if only I could find motivation and diligence to fully write my sequel to "Death" involving Superteen. Β Then it'd feel like I really contributed to the fandom, including this groundbreaking moment.

Wanna know the idea? Β Put simply, Superman (my brother) is killed by Doomsday, and I (Superteen) am occupied in some way, so I'm too late to save him. Β So he dies in My arms, and I'm so heartbroken for revenge, that I become willing to kill anyone who tries to reason with me. Β But like I said, unfinished.
