Retooled an older character to be more rp friendly with my primary demographic. Was a bit of an uphill battle for this one, next to no mobian equines exist on the internet and those which do look radically different from the traditional style so I had to try and work something out. Posting this now and planning on revisiting the designs later, just wanted to have something to draw and show for it.
Name: Sadia
Race: Genetically engineered Zebra esper.
Gender: female
Alignment: Lawful Good
Occupation: Psy-Op
Physical description: Black stripes on white fur, eyes are a mix of violet and maroon, wears a skintight suit of purple and blue stripes.
Age: Physically she is in her early twenties, but between being artificially created and multiple times in temporal stasis trying to calculate an exact age is a nightmare even for her.
Background: Aboard the space station ARK there were more scientists than just Gerald Robotnik, many of whom had access to similar resources. One such scientist known by his peers as “The Shrink” was a specialist in the fields of psionics. Being of a paranoid disposition he uncovered or more accurately stole Gerald’s research and began working on specialized life forms of his own. He wasn’t interested in creating super weapons he was interested in getting the ultimate power, that of knowledge. Sadia was one such creation of his, designed to have psychic abilities relating to time and space detection and manipulation. Before he could make full use of her and his other creations however the G.U.N. raid on the ark took place and the Shrink mysteriously vanished. Sadia was captured in the raid and later indoctrinated into G.U.N. as a psionic agent, where her abilities proved very useful for espionage and intelligence gathering. When Sadia was not being an actively useful agent she was ordered to go into a sort of stasis like hibernation, freezing herself in time to preserve her for future assignments. These hibernation periods would last up to years or even decades. Recently with the threat of her creator’s rival’s grandson arising she has come to see more use again.
Personality: Sadia is often of a gentle temperament having a more ‘big picture’ viewpoint. She is patient and soft spoken but is not one to accept harassment from anyone. She can be a bit naive at times and a little dated after a hibernation period and lacking a normal upbringing she sometimes finds it hard to relate to others though she is an open and friendly individual.
Romance: Due to an inconstant hibernation schedule as well as skipping puberty thanks to her artificial creation Sadia has given little thought or consideration to any long-lasting relationships, having outlived various superior officers and teammates.
Likes: Given free time Sadia enjoys history and archeology which come alive to her because of her abilities, so she might spend time in libraries or museums. When not doing that she enjoys practicing her psychic powers or engaging in cultural activities. She’s open to try about anything so long as she doesn’t feel bad about it.
Dislikes: Tomb robbers or ‘treasure hunters’ as they call themselves who steal historic relics for personal gain. Aliens are a mixed bag for her, she really doesn’t like the Zeti, she appreciates wisps though she is uneasy around them, and don’t get her started on Black Arms. She’s not fond of time travelers, but that’s partially because their presence causes her mental discomfort due to their time displacement.
Powers: Sadia has a variety of psychic powers based on space and time which include the following
- Psychometry- Otherwise known as object reading this is one of her most powerful abilities, it allows her to see the history of an object (or individual but people are a bit harder) and learn almost everything about it. Psychometry can let her see passwords or codes entered into machines to type them in, see events as they happened, connect clues and evidence, operate almost any machine by watching how it was used and many other useful features.
- Clairvoyance- Sadia can project her senses over distances viewing remote locations or even her immediate surroundings. She describes it like having a drone with x-ray vision she can put anywhere she wants.
- Teleportation- Sadia can alter space to teleport herself, objects or others. Though the process is instantaneous the power has a bit of a cooldown which can become longer depending on distance and mass of what is teleported
- Space time distortion- Sadia can distort spacetime, which often has a visually rippling effect. This can be used to slow others or objects, speed them up, or change relative distance between her and something else. To an outsider it might seem like she is moving quickly but in reality she is altering her own time frame and collapsing her relative space to her destination. This power gives her something of an edge against speedster type opponents.
- Precognition- Sadia can see a few seconds into the future provided she is focused on doing so. She can attempt to look further but the greater into the future she looks the fuzzier details become. She generally doesn’t like to use this power for reasons she claims are moral, but if you ask her nicely enough, she might give you a reading.
- Temporal stasis- Sadia can enter a state of temporal stasis hibernation where time does not pass for her. In this state she is completely immobile, virtually unmovable and almost fully unaware of what’s going on around her. The main benefit of this is that while in stasis she doesn’t age, need to breathe, eat, drink, use the bathroom and is immune to all physical damage. She does require a bit of oversight as she’s a deep sleeper and waking her often requires a specific trigger.
- Other powers- Sadia has a few other powers based on space and time, which are usually not practiced due to the danger of them or pain that they can cause her. She has been found capable of creating chrono clones of herself, opening vortexes in space time, and limited time stopping. She however refuses to attempt to create black holes, time travel or figure out winning lottery numbers. This refusal is partially a question of her ability and more a concern for the consequences.
Weaknesses: Sadia while designed to be as perfect as possible is far from it, and she has a few weaknesses to keep her in check.
- Nicotine addiction- A common trend among some psionics is smoking as it helps them focus and recover their mental energy. Why this is the case is anyone’s guess, but Sadia keeps a few prescription rolls on her for efficiency in field work. That said if she gets stressed or highly irritated, she might look for a smoke.
- Xenophobia- Part of the paranoia of the Shrink was to instill xenophobia into his creations, and because of this Sadia is very uneasy around aliens or otherworldly creatures regardless of how cute or friendly they might be. She doesn’t mean to be rude most of the time, but it is a trait that has been built into her that she has a hard time getting over.
- Time travelers- While Sadia can hold her own against a time traveler, their very presence causes her headaches.
- Power type opponents- While Sadia might have an edge against speedsters, she finds the power types are slow and strong enough to give her serious trouble, lacking any real strength herself she’s particularly prone to grapples or applied pressure as she cant alter that by messing withs pace time.
Equipment: Because of her psychometry Sadia can utilize almost any piece of equipment she finds, however she utilizes two main pieces of equipment.
- S.T.A.S (Space Time Anchoring Suit) The skintight suit Sadia wears is more than just a particular fashion choice, it’s a functional outfit that helps anchor her to the present place and time. Without it she has to put in a conscious effort to remain present otherwise she is prone to random teleportation, minor time displacement and even the creation of what she calls ‘time twins’ which are multiple versions of herself displaced across time but existing all at one point. It would be a useful self-duplication technique if it didn’t cause her massive migraines.
- Psi-Cristal, her Psi-crystal is a tanzanite gemstone housed in a dark metallic case on he right arm. She uses her psi-crystal as a mental focus as well as a sort of mental matrix semi computer. In addition she can use her space manipulation to capture light within the crystalline lattice which she can build up a charge for like a battery which she can use as a personal flashlight or refine the beam into an offensive laser. Being particularly bound to this gemstone she knows wherever it is should it be removed and she will take great umbrage to anyone who dares to do so.
Combat: Sadia prefers to engage in ranged combat using her psi-crystal laser or any modern firearm she can (She can use Wispons but she really doesn’t like to). Provided she needs to get up close and personal she does have combat training and can hold her own in melee using her training and psychic powers but as far as she is concerned physical confrontations should be a last resort.
RP opportunity: Sadia was in stasis hibernation having been given orders by G.U.N. command to await until a time she would be needed again. She sat motionless in a meditative stance inside a specialized crate with windows. On the crate there was a panel that gave instructions for her awakening as well as descriptions of her abilities and practical uses. The crate was specially designed to be able to be moved with her in it as otherwise she would be near impossible to relocate. As per the usual Sadia wasn’t sure when she would be called to wake up and serve again but she was fairly used to waking up to different faces and times. In her time frozen state she quietly slept and dreamed, unaware of what circumstances she would wake to find herself in.
Your characters can be working with G.U.N. to wake her for an assignment, or possibly in a situation where G.U.N. has fallen someone finds her and wakes her up to help them with other dangers going on. Possibly your characters are villains who kidnap her along with a variety of other G.U.N. supplies. Its up to you, or you can simply meet her in a friendly social setting.
