Ive never tried this technique (tell a lie, i may have when i was little) so its great to see new types of work on the DA! Especially when its turned out so well!! All your little scrapings reflect those exact same carving strokes made by the sculpture who made the sculptures. That to me is very evocative. Good job!

Awe inspiring. I don't know any other words to describe this.
It captures so much. There is fear and sadness in this picture, yet there are ancient and spiritual tones. I'm very impressed.

Wow, I chose the same picture when I did my scratchboard piece for art class a couple years ago. You did a great job!

I know. Did you have Mrs. Rich for your art teacher?

Yep. She was..OK. It always struck me as a little odd that the debate teacher also taught art.

I personally didn’t like her as an art teacher

This is amazing! It looks like cover art for Plato, or a Mythology book! You are so talented.

Perhaps... Though I'd probably have more luck mentioning it to an individual professor who was actually involved in the publishing process. I've got a decent amount of connections in the psych and lit departments, but I only know one of the philosophy teachers pretty well.

As I said before, you should try. Cannot hurt! and who knows? You may be surprised.

Scratchboard is such a difficult medium, but the shading (well, reverse-shading) is wonderfully done, and there are so many folds to worry about.
Wow.

Your profile says you're nineteen. You're bloody LYING. No nineteen yearold is this good. I'm betting you are like... jobless 45 year-old living in the basement.

I lyeth not, my dear Bladed one. Nineteen since last February, and - one better - I actually did this piece for an art class when I was sixteen. I only just recently re-found it in storage at my parent's house. ^_^

I'm considering... Of course, this may not bode well for future employment opportunities...
