In a manner of speaking, it *does* have a sequel.Β The author of the novel, Peter Watts, has published at least one short story from The Thing's point of view, and I think he's got plans for a novel set several years after The Thing.

I strongly advise you to read it.Β It's... definitely a very different take on The Thing.
