Description
My new Red cosplay that I debuted at Pax prime 2014. Made everything new except for the collar which was edited. materials used were stretch silk charmeuse and it is made of SATAN. It was a NIGHTMARE to sew I will tell YOU. con was amazing and I love all my friends that went with me and the new ones I made. (yes, the dress transforms into the ripped version, but those pictures are not out yet.photo credit to edtan on flicker. He is awesome!

I love all of your photos of this cosplay, because both you and your costume bring Red to life in the perfect way and are the best I've seen. But this photo in particular I think is my absolute favorite, because you can't get much closer to reconstructing Cloudbank IRL than this. Spectacular.

That's such an amazing cosplay...So you made the costume yourself huh? That's a lot of talent. The final product looks astounding. I personally like that particular costume because not only it's pretty yet modest but it's also not glamorous enough that it would be impossible to see someone go out while wearing it (though it would still be a little unusual for today's standards). I also like the background invoking the game, that was a nice addition. Excellent job overall!

Thank you! I did have some help with it (nothing I do is 100% "alone" otherwise it would never be fun! friends make cosplay fun, ya know) like pinning in the right places, yelling at the silk, getting opinions, fixing things that broke along the way, especially the corset!, moral support, that kind of stuff. :d Β It was a labor of... mainly insanity since I had already made one the year prior but i wanted to do a better one now that the game was finally out. I wanted to do it right:Β
"ok if Red was REAL, what would she wear and what would the ballgown be like because it IS an art deco/nouveau so I think it should fit in the time period".
the skirt is still transforming so it can become the short version as well. Just waiting on more pictures from EDTAN

It seems like you spend a lot of time on costume making then. Is it just a hobby? You could probably profit from such a talent if you were so inclined
Either way, it's cool that not only you enjoy the process of making the costumes (even though you seem to have a tendency of shouting at inanimate objects), you also have friends to share the enjoyment with. Truly a thing to be cherished, for sure

it was the most ive ever spent on fabric. but i wanted to try it out of silk as the poly wrinkled like a nightmare. ill probably never do it again as its too much of a B** and SUPER warm to wear on top of being stupidly expensive for a fabric that is the devil incarnate to work with.Β
You know how crazy I am about making it PERFECT. so, I challenged myself and I feel I succeeded in spite of everything that was a nightmare.Β
