Description coloured version of [link]

To start with a rant, the scanner completely ruined every single colour, light blending and shading ...
Besides, the colours turned out yellow instead of the normal greys and purples used, so in order to remove them I had to sacrifice the light shading, and I ended up with this white and weird image.... hope you can still see most of it...

As for the reason why the suit is of a washed, worn grey colour, Artemis is just a character that is not likely to wear something jet-black

I was thinking of colouring the complete background with a dark blue tone, but I was affraid it would have ruined everything...

Artemis (c) my sister Maya

[EDIT]: fixed the brightness a litte bit... it really looked crappy on dark monitors...

thanks
I did say I'm much more at ease sketching and making the drawings/concepts with a normal pencil...
hehehe, I love those hats... the more worn out they look, the better

Although the scanner might have been rough on the colors the true work still shines through

thanks mate
gah, I'm working on a monitor with setting completely different from my own and I can see that most of the picture is only yellow spots... I should fix the brightness as soon as I get back on my comp....

I like the color scheme. The light pastels are pleasing to the eye. It a good change of palce for someone like me who ejoys bold, garrish colors

I also prefer to use strong, sharp colours, but I felt like it didn't suit the lineart and character....
I am not good at mixing them, but pastel coloured images do tend to attract my eye ....

Indeed! The whole idea of traditional art amazes me. I have never actually messed with real water colors before. Or actual paints. I have no understading of the dynamics of 'color theory'
Perhaps it is time I learn, before its too late

the way I do it: find some watercolours (usually the ones left over from elementary school), find a brush, and draw stuff on the most crappiest paper that murders all shadings and small details, then find a scanner that finishes the job...
nah, it is actually more fun .... at least with watercolours... I have no idea how to achieve such details and colour shadings with Photoshop.....

now that I look at him, the spider turned out rather pale, too
ah, as the rest of the image, so pale.... but all the white really makes it look shiney

you know. I imagined it in a totally different color. Mind if I give it a try on photoshop?

I think everyone expected some different colours... that's why sketches always have that mystery touch....
mwahahaha, fear my completely abstract colouring choices!

sure, you can have fun with the sketch if you want
can't wait to see what you do with your awesome patter skills

and thanks

Not worn out, worn in is a better way to say it.
