Description My '30s mobster togs. The m1921 thompson was made by yours truly. Yes, I know that a 1960 chevy is anachronistic to the period, but it's what i had on hand.

hey who cares that you had a 60's chevy, atleast you are wearing a REAL fedora unlike everyone else ive seen on here who wears the target ones. So good job on that

I know, right? True fedoras are not stitched together out of individual pieces of fabric or have stingy little brims. In this pic, I'm wearing a 1940s Dobbs fedora with a 3 inch brim.

And they don't cost $10 lol, I got a Royal stetson one from the 30's that is in great condition, I got it from a garage sale for like 50 cents, that hat would cost like $200 at a store

Hey, great find with that! Garage sales and estate sales are the best places to look for true vintage clothing.

Yeah sometimes ebay, but they usually got people looking to get money not get rid of something, antique shops sometimes got them but they are always either the smallest head size, or just womens clothing

I'm thinking of doing something like this myself how long did you make the Tommy?

About two hours. All you need is junk and a hot glue gun, plus a little patience. I recommend using visual reference. It can be a pain without it.

A 1960 Chevy's far less anachronistic than a 2007 Volvo part of the reason I've yet to take any period-themed photos myself. Ah well, not like the fact I wear a fedora most days doesn't already make my love of the '30s obvious.

By he way, nice Thompson. Out of curiosity, how'd you make it?

Thanks for the feedback, Jared.
Glad to know we share enthusiasm for the elegance of the past. I agree-CURSE THOSE MODERN CARS!
As for my Typewriter, I fabricated it out our corrugated cardboard(The body) PVC pipe(the barrel and charging handle) aluminum angle iron (the sights)an old coffee can (the drum)and styrofoam (The grips).
The whole thing's held together with hot glue and resin-sealed for strength.

heh, quite. Hell, nowadays cars have more plastic on 'em than they do metal. Ah well.
As for the Thompson, turned out great for such a simple method. And definitely a cheaper alternative than buying an Airsoft Tommy
