This is my second try at Hiei, and it seems like the sword didn't really turn out the way I wanted it too. lolz, I like the look in his eyes though! ^^EDIT: Moved to scraps

This is a fabulous drawing of Hiei! I love the hair, the eyes, and the clothing. He looks so very intense,and you've infused him with that mythical, fairy-tale look -- he would fit right in in many other worlds besides YYH's. Beautiful piece!

That's an interesting outfit, too. I don't remember seeing him wear it, did you design it yourself? If so, it looks really good on him. ^^

It's nice to see him out of his boring old black... uh... coat-thing. One of my hobbies is making up funky outfits for my characters to wear, so I guess I just notice it a lot!

I saw it really early, way before anyone else, back when only Poltergeist Report and the other really crappy movie were out. My video rental store had them. My sis and I were like "Dude, why is this series not out over here?" and between three and five years later (I forget when I first saw it 
Now I have the fist four tapes and the next three DVDs. Along with the movies. Go fig.

Some companies are better than others. One of my favorite animes is Slayers (Only out on video/DVD as far as I know, but then again I don't get the Anime Network), and the dubs ROCK. There's a lot of complaining about one of the characters (Xelloss) 'cause his Japanese voice actor is Ishida Akira, the sexiest seiyuu alive, but his English voice is David Moo, who... well... isn't as sexy.
But the rest of the voices fit amazingly well. It all depends on who doing the dubbing, I guess.

David Moo? LOL Makes me think of a cow saying 'Moooooooo' ^.^ And saying 'mooooooooooo' is not sexy. Or, I dont think it's sexy ^^

David's alright, but he's more of a "Trickster" voice than a "Wicked Cool and Mysterious" voice. Xel fits both catagories, so I think both work well. Except Moo can't scream. Oh, and don't tell any hardcore Slayers fans that I don't mind him. They can get kinda.... obsessive
I wouldn't consider mooing sexy either, to tell you the truth. It's kinda a funny last name O_o

Yes! Anime is the greatest of teachers! I even took an anime drawing course. You know what it was? The teacher say: Ohkay, you kiddies draw whatever you like, I come around and make helpful hints on problem areas.
So, basically it was practice. But I got WAY BETTER! Haha!

The problem with the sword is that the part where you hold it is too short, especially for a sword that size. Otherwise it's a good picture.
