Description Just a note: Not sure what to call it. there is more traditional work in this than digital, but it is really both.

This is a collaboration I did with for 's contest HB’s 2007 Rurouni Kenshin Contest

As many of you can probably guess, this is Yahiko, with his dead parents. The idea and initial line art was done by and I printed it and traced it onto watercolor paper, and toned it with sumi-e ink, and painted the background that way too as a separate piece. Then on the computer, I put them together and added color... basically.

has her own Rurouni Kenshin website. Kenshin lovers must check it out. Lots of good fan art.
You might also want to look at her gallery, if you go to the older stuff you'll find lots of Kenshin art.

Anyway, she does a Kenshin contest every year. The link I gave you takes you to the contest home page.

you have until the 31st of July to submit something if you want to participate. ^__^x I hope you do because you make some really nice Kenshin art.

I like the concept of him holding his father's hand. It really adds an emotional impact.
I also adore how the background colors came out and how Yahiko stands out in comparison. I don't know if you did this intentionally or not, but the color yellow means "life or mind."
