I personally do enjoy this piece greatly, though that may be from bias seeing as I love underwater scenes.
The colors are appropriate and I can see what you were trying to accomplish for your main focus, the pink serpent (I do apologize, I don't know what to call it). The lighter tones at the top give the appearance that it's close to the water's surface and that effect would taper off going down. My only gripe with this is if the creature is close to the surface, more emphasis might be needed on the sunlight's reflection. I can't make the distinction between the sunlight reflection or the scales- unless it was meant to have a smooth skin throughout then the shadowing under the fins would need to be adjusted to match the physics of lighting. The only other thing I wanted to talk about was the whales. I almost feel as though they weren't all that necessary, but I understand that you wanted to use them as a size reference.
The overall colors and composition are very well done. I can't wait to see more of your work in the future!

Okay, I'll have to say this first: Aw, those giant eyes with that pointy snoot!
The scale of the creatures in this is quite fascinating - the first thing that catches my eye is of course how huge the eel thing is compared to the whales, but looking at the background I see the jellyfish are giant too - or maybe it's the whales who are tiny? A very interesting part of the ocean indeed!
The colours seem somewhat muted compared to your recent work, which fits with the underwater scene. However I'm having a bit of a hard time with the atmospheric perspective on the noodle. The head and top of the fin are most washed out, which suggest they are furthest away, but then the cheek and top of the neck are more vibrant like they are closer. Overall while the body snakes towards the viewer the colour doesn't always quite match the distance the pose suggests. I'd try to make that gradient from front to back a bit stronger.
The other thing I noticed is the texture - the light on top of the head resembles the scales on the body a lot. Maybe the scales could be made a bit more distinct (in some places perhaps) to set them apart.
Something I really enjoy is the shimmering/iridescence on the fins as well as their overall flowiness!
Overall this is a great picture (as per usual from you), looking forward to the next!

i think if you moved the whales across so theyre overlapping the snakefish it would be more clear that they're heading towards it!/avoid some of the confusion ppl are having. i love this painting, the creatures are fascinating and the colours work together amazing <3 awesome work

i didnt want to rate your art with stars but i think the only critique i would have is this:
the foreground/background distinction is a little difficult? as in, i feel as though the whales are on the same distance level as the giant snek boy? im not sure if snek boy is supposed to be in front or behind the whales or what you intended it to be!!!!!Β

the whales are supposed to be very slightly in front which is why itβs hard to tell LMAO but I tried to make it so that the sneks head is a slightly bluer tint to imply distance?// rip im noob at this lol
