"Many moons ago, on a calm Hallow's Eve, a young dainty ventured into a mighty forest and happened across an old worn down shrine. The dainty decided to investigate since she was intrigued about supernatural things. As she got closer, she could sense that a powerful being was enshrined there, but whatever it was seemed to be dormant. She reached out her hand and gently brushed off some debris that had fallen from the trees above, it looked like it had been there for quite a while. Suddenly there was a dazzling flash of light and an ominous cloud of smoke, 'Who dares disturb my slumber' a booming voice yelled out. The young dainty was shocked, instantly frozen in her tracks, a huge oni had appeared before her. The oni towered above her, thundering with rage, glaring fiercely at her with all of their eyes. Their beautiful, sparkling eyes... Stunned by their dazzling beauty, the young dainty whispered 'Oh my god...' She had not been frozen in fear, no, she had been frozen in awe. A blush spread across her face, and she promptly dropped to her knees. The oni towering above her looked down at her only to find her staring back at them in wonder and admiration.
'I like you!' The young dainty proclaimed, 'You're beautiful!'. The oni was shocked, unable to comprehend what they had just been told, 'W-what?'. The dainty grinned at them, her expression warming the oni's heart. Flustered, the oni returned to their shrine, 'C-come back again sometime...' they whispered before the air fell silent once more. The dainty smiled gently and started to leave; she turned back to look upon the shrine once more, 'I'll definitely come back!' she said with a grin, 'I'll come back every day!' and with that, she left.
The young dainty and the oni grew closer with every visit and eventually fell in love. They got married shortly after that and lived happily ever after...

And THAT is how we met ohohoho!" Iris grinned, concluding her story. "Did you enjoy it?"
"WAOW!!! That's soooo cool grandma!" Almond exclaimed joyfully, his eyes sparkling with excitement, "Tell us another! Another!"
Oculus sighed, hearing about how his parents met was somewhat embarrassing but hearing his son encouraging them so enthusiastically was worse, what will his mother start telling Almond about next? What if it's embarrassing stories about when he was a baby, what if there are photos? He cringed thinking about it, 'It's going to be a long, long night...'

I decided to go with a,, different route for my contest entry ! The theme was supernatural, and what's more supernatural than a dainty meeting her future spouse by accidentally disturbing their slumber whilst investigating their shrine ?

I'm not very good at writing so i apologise if the story isnt legible hgfjd

Oculus's other parent finally gets a design ! Woo ! They are a powerful oni, their name is Kyōmaku, they're 8ft tall and love their smol wife very much !

Iris, Kyōmaku, Oculus and Almond belong to me !
