Scientific Name: Speothos venaticus
Size: 20-30cm tall in the shoulders, 55-75cm from snout to tail-base + 12.5-15cm long tail = 67.5-90cm from snout to tail.
Classification: Caniform
Habitat: Savannas, Forests, Jungles, Swamps
Diet: Carnivorous; diet consisted of tapirs, rheas, capybaras, large rodents, lizards
Description: It's NOT a mutant between a bear pup and a dog pup, it is the Bush Dog. Not only that it is the most adorable animals, but the most gregarious canids in South America. It is said that it looked more like a badger-like mustelid whose painted like a grizzly bear(Ursus horribilis), than any members of the dog family, because of their squat body, makes the bush dog, very rare and unusual. You may also know, that these cute canids are the world's champions of hide-and-seek games. But unfortunately, due to too many humans, and their population being declined, makes the bush dog, near threatened. They spend the days creeping in, and living in their borrows. Its really hard to see them in their natural habitats, but we see them really good, when they are captives. They are more closely related to the maned wolves, than African and Asian dholes. All bush dogs loved to be very social in groups, and didn't like being solitary.
