Description some sort of squirrel, odd coloration, i believe it is native to south america, this was at the columbus zoo

I also believe it is a prevost, also known as Asian Tri-colored Squirrel, (Callosciurus prevostii).

Ratufa's are wicked awesome. Several subspecfies, as well. Google image search 'em for some ideas.

I'm sorry, but I beg to differ. I think it's actually a Prevost's Squirrel, also known as the Tri-Colored Squirrel. The two are very similar but the forepaws of a Prevost's are slightly orange as shown above. The Ratufa's are usually black or a sort of scream colored. Sorry.
