Above we have Gene and Finny talking on the phone right after Gene's fight with Quackenbush (XDDDDD), so he's soaking wet.Below is at the Winter Carnival where Gene stops Brinker's face with a jug of hard cider. Then, the classic line: "I've been violated."

I remember laughing my ass off when I read this part of the book for school!
I remember we had to annotate, and most of my annotations were about how gay Finny and Gene were for eachother and that they should just do it already, or they were like this scene where I wrote lots of profanity expressing my elation for John Knowles' sense of humor. Also, I remember panicking when my English teacher asked if she could read some of my annotations to make sure I was doing the assignment :'D

Fantastic! John Knowles has the GREATEST sense of humor, dry and sparse as it sometimes is. People always have such great stories from when they read this in school. Thanks for sharing yours XD

I think Gene was trying to make the point that everything about Brinker was extremely assy except for his ass, which was quite lovely. Well, that and Gene is totally gay. Just my opinion

A Seperate Peace... I really should have raided your gallery this summer when I had to read that for a class. I couldn't get into it (mainly because the last thing I want out of Summer is school work). If I had seen this, I might have been inspired to not do it the last day of summer!

I bought the book finally! (and a couple other fave HS english class reads) A while back in fact. But Otakon and then the HP book, and then my newest manga editions from Otakon and then lots of other things have kept me from it. I need to go read it now, definately....

No, actually, I just thought the book was dreadful.
...and I say that, even though I've read it numerous times and find myself reading it over every now and then. So perhaps it's not so dreadful after all.
