History:
in the beginning he'd blamed both mother and father. blamed his mother for having more kids than she could afford to take care of. blamed his father for leaving, for refusing to take care of his family, for pretending like they didn't exist. as he grew older, however, he realized how they (how his mother, his sisters, himself) had been cheated: instead of having to live in the cramped apartment they could barely afford, instead of worrying day after day about money and food, his father had a new family. one with a smart little girl and a pretty woman who didn't look half as run down as raleigh's mother. his father was happy, carefree. he had a job. evidently, abandoning a wife and four kids is what it took for the man to shape up. and boy did raleigh grow to resent the fact.
when raleigh stinnett ran away, he wasn't leaving behind much: dirt poor since the day he was born, the morning raleigh packed up his bags he'd turned his back on the mother who he'd've done anything for if his very presence wasn't such a burden on the woman whose husband left just as raleigh had done as dawn barely lit up the sky; he'd turned his back on three little sisters who were still in elementary school, the age where kids didn't realize how mean they were being when they commented on their dingy clothes, their lack of toys, of school supplies, of anything. he wanted to make it big like his father, get rich, not for himself, but for them. when raleigh stinnett ran away, he wasn't trying to run from poverty, or from his family -- he had every intent to go back, honest. they just had to be patient with him.

Hobbies: kickball, climbing trees, napping, playing soldier, fishing
