This will only happen if America finally does something about it. Don't try to say I am wrong.

May peace light her way. Of all the faiths that deserve not to be persecuted, the Baha'i Faith is one of the most admirable. Good luck to your friend, and I hope things turn out well.

ahmadahmad's comment is really scary. His comment just backs up the fact that there is prejudice against the Bahá'ís in Iran and that it's rather dangerous for us.

Your friend had not said the complete story to you .
The first , Bahaism is not a religion in Iran and Just it's known as a political group where it born , which manipulates Islam and so hates the religion of most of people . And the second , Ask your friend about they mass murders of people when they funded 150 Years ago.

There haven't been any massacres since the 80s thank God, but Baha'is are still not very welcome there. My Baha'i friends go there often enough and they're always alright. As long as she doesn't bring any real attention to herself she should be alright.

My God, Whom I worship and adore! I bear witness unto Thy unity and Thy oneness, and acknowledge Thy gifts, both in the past and in the present. Thou art the All-Bountiful, the overflowing showers of Whose mercy have rained down upon high and low alike, and the splendors of Whose grace have been shed over both the obedient and the rebellious.

O God of mercy, before Whose door the quintessence of mercy hath bowed down, and round the sanctuary of Whose Cause loving-kindness, in its inmost spirit, hath circled, we beseech Thee, entreating Thine ancient grace, and seeking Thy present favor, that Thou mayest have mercy upon all who are the manifestations of the world of being, and deny them not the outpourings of Thy grace in Thy days.

All are but poor and needy, and Thou, verily, art the All-Possessing, the All-Subduing, the All-Powerful.

The modern theocratic government came to power only in 1979, prior to that Iran had one of the most secular (but simultaneously repressive) regimes in the Middle East. Earlier, before the Shah siezed power, Mossadeq was leading the country down a very progressive path. So don't be so quick to judge.

I know someone who is of the Baha'i faith ... she told me that she can't go back ... but I'm wondering why!?!? ... make that two .. I know two girls of the Baha'i faith. I do pray your Baha'i friend will return back safely.

Well I know there is Christians in Iran, my sis Veronica lives in Isfahan and she lives a block away from a Christian community. If I ever visit Isfahan ... I'll be so happy to check out that Christian community.

keep in touch.. and tell me if the individual came back safely.

Actually, a Persian lady from my study class told me that if family members of her were to die, she would not be able to attend their funeral because she wouldn't be able to enter Iran and live to tell us about it.

I thank God that I live in a country where religious freedom is a fundamental human right, and I pray that the entire world may experience that freedom. The persecution that Baha'i's go through in Iran is terrible and an affront to justice.
