Princess Irulan, researching the life of Paul Atreides
Hello again. Its been a while, eh? Here's a recent personal piece. I'm a huge fan of Frank Herbert's Dune series. Here we see Princess Irulan, daughter of Emperor Shaddam IV, and member of The Bene Gesserit Sisterhood, researching the life of Paul Atreides, for one of her many biographical works. One of a developing series of paintings, celebrating my favourite women of scifi. This piece of sublimely beautiful, authentic medieval music, was instrumental in its creation. I had it on a loop for the longest time! Saints Katherine, Celestine, Euphrati Keeler etc. Love it!

I am a huge fan of Dune myself, and it's always so great when great artists dedicate their art to this universe in new, unique ways. There is a touch of art deco here that I simply love. i salute you.

For me, this just captures perfectly the solitary future of Irulan. Though in some ways, she was the most free of anyone. Her position unshackled her from the forces that twisted and turned others around her. It was a solitary life, but it was hers; she owned it.
