Description A dark elf watching the movements of an orc army. Came up with this idea after watching some LOTR, doesn't really have any link to the movie though. 8-10hr painting I believe.

Really like this piece, very nice color scheme!
The only thing bothering me is the border, it doesn't fit with a painting

Aha, orcs are always so expendable - poor guys. I gotta say though first off is that there's this sense of displacement through it... I don't know what it is but it's not truly leaving a negative impact. Anyway, I appreciate the variety of design while keeping to the lotr based scheme, also love how you've styled the illuminating torches whilst keeping such a vivid coldness to the work, overall it's pretty sick man

very nice, the orcs totally look evil! I guess thats the point I didn't think about it, but after I read artguyjoe's critique, I think he has some useful points. I wouldn't have noticed it myself though, except the background fortress being at an angle. At first I thought they were trees ^_^

Hmmm...I seem to be of two minds about this one. It looks like the DOF is just a bit off, in that, the elf seems in focus when she shouldn't be, as it looks like the right rock formation is a bit ahead. That could just be perspective though. The other thing was the background. If I were to tilt it so that it stood straight up and down, then the elf would fall off of her rock formation and the Orcs would be walking at a diagonal angle.

I can't fault you for technique because it is impeccable. You just happen to have so many "home runs" that when something seems out of place, it really stands out.
