It's not anti male. Just anti idiot.
I like the premise. It's a nice little vignette. Just about every little girl loves horses, but some carry that love into adulthood. So what if you go for the hot horse guy, and he turns out to be a jerk? That's life. And you got your ever supportive friends to help you pick up the pieces.
Just imagine being able to spend two hundred bucks to try on another form. Furry fandom would explode. I wonder how many people would decide to keep the form for life.

The idea that they paid to be centaurs (and the possibility that they could become some other kind of creature) would be great in real life, don't you think?

If our skill at genetic manipulation gets good enough, this WILL happen. That's just how the free market works.

Looks great.
Imagine being a centaur and having to take public transportation.
Yeah, you can run as fast as a regular horse but a train/bus moves faster and there is the fun part of pushing through crowds.
How would you sit on a train or bus?
Anyway, interesting idea.

I could tell you drew this just from the thumbnail in my messages- it looks really good, you definitely have your own style xD
And transformation parlors sound downright cool- the dialogue between the girls subtly gives you so much info on it xD

Just don't go to one of those cut-rate transformation parlors that charge half the money for the "same" change. You get what you pay for, and just because your goal is to be half horse doesn't mean it'll be the half that you want.

I like how, aside from (apparently being confection colored) they have their differences too, like how the tails match their hair. Although, only $200 for a complete species change? Where do I sign up and what else can they do?! Maybe a follow up with Laura still a centaur, Kim's hair would look great underwater as a mermaid, and Heather as a drider?

In the world I dreamed up for them, a full-body treatment at a transformation parlor costs $199.95 (plus tax). And there's a special running, where if you buy a tail for $29.95, they'll throw in pointed ears for free.
I usually don't do follow-ups of a given picture.

There's just one line on the Orangesicle's chest that looks odd, it's a curve in the shirt that makes a weird edge on the side of the horse shoulder.
Everything else fantastic, from concept to composition.

Which curve? They generally look right to me as they are.

Right where the left foreleg meets the body, the curve on the nightshift looks like it's a curve on the body and that there's a flap of flesh.
Perhaps if the lines on the nightshift were not the same (or so close) color as the ones of the body?
The lines are in the right spots, but it blends into the body a little much right there. I know what it's supposed to be, but I can't unsee a flap there, even though I know it's not, y'know?

Hmm... I see what you're saying. I've made some tweaks to it, and I'm going to post a revised version. Her nightgown is a little less sheer now, and that line has been moved. I actually like the new result more, so it was a good suggestion.

Yeah, art's like that. It usually needs a second glance with fresh eyes, as working on the art blinds you to it at the same time. I do like the revision, it works much better.

Heh. Yeah, in the world I dreamed up for them, there are transformation parlors, and a whole-body treatment like that costs a mere $199.95. They have a special deal going right now, though --- buy a tail for $29.95 and get pointed ears for free!

Unfortunately, that much will only buy a lesser treatment at the transformation parlor for $129.95: That's enough money to end up a furry, but if you want to rearrange your internal organs into a non-humanoid design, that costs more.

I guess I'm just surprised that women do that kind of stuff; thought it was more of a high school thing (and it might just be the lack of sleep, but the fact that I find more suprising than them being half-horse rather silly).
Also, and this is just me nitpicking, but Kia seems to be standing a bit far from Laura, what with the way she's having to reach to pat her on the back.

Now something I have to start wondering.... How DID people start to turn into demihumans origionally?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
MadelynHimegami In reply to 10110100 [2011-09-02 06:20:57 +0000 UTC]
It'd either have to be a recent innovation at this particular moment, or humans and demihumans alike bear human children, or this just happened to be a group of friends who were all born human. Or a combination of the three. Hopefully notthat last one, since it'd have unfortunate implications of segregation, going by the dialogue.
