Description This one is another one based on Campbell's work - Daoloth, the Render of the Veils. A not particularly malign god. In fact one fairly easily summoned. You don't even need to sacrifice anybody. But you DO have to do it in complete darkness, for the human eye strives to follow his outline, and that way lies madness.

And what next? Chaugnar Faughn, the Horror from the Hills? The Keeper of the Moon-Lens? Something suitably horrific, feasting on the pile of dead pigs I dug up?

t IS needed, from special candles that Daoloth needs to facilitate entry. When the light goes negative and then out, you know Daoloth has arrived. Then he tastes your blood to be sure of your intents. You then speak your wish.

BTW, the premise of the tale was that reality is actually so hideous that our senses evolved to filter out the hideousness. Somehow I can NOT imagine hideousness as being objective.
