I have mixed feelings with how this one came out. Now obviously, I kinda broke my own rule here, which was not to show of the faces of the dead rag-dolls, especially the eyes, but with 5 I made an exception to show just how personal this is to 9. Since they were close. Very close. And some of you can make up your own little head cannon trying to tell me they're not and all that other crap, but they were, so lick it!.....
9 gets really emotional here and has a moment to finally hold his dead friend before he takes him back to his shelter. The shame and guilt is overwhelming him. 9 only hopes now that he will be able to bring them all back and that he might be forgiven one day. I now quote Manolo as he sang to the bull.
"And if you can forgive
and if you can forgive
Love will truly live."

I knew this was coming...
He really can't forget 5's face after his death, even 9 was traumatised by the sudden death of his Alterer Bruder (Older brother in German). It was just...crazy.

Its a really good idea to read this very part, look at this gorgeous piece, and listen to "Bright Eyes" all at once if you want to sob your eyes out.
But seriously, this is amazing. One of my absolute, if not the, favorite piece so far. I love the darkness and overall emotion of the piece. You've captured 9's sadness perfectly, and making the choice to show some of 5's face is a really fantastic one - it does indeed show how heartbroken 9 is. I also really love how you made the scar on 9's shoulder - the start of their friendship - really stand out and catch the eye. MY friend, you have really outdone yourself this time. Each one is just better than the last, all insanely beautiful, and no matter how down I feel, they bring a smile to my face.

Yeah, the scar was kind of a lucky accident. When I make these, I use Ad. Illustrator to make the out lines. So when I do that I tend to pick random shades of red for his stitching. But yes that pretty much was the beginning of their friendship. Once again Thank you!

Yes indeed! I had the Owl City cover on loop for about an hour today.
I think its ingenious. His scar is a really big symbol in both the film and my fic. And I love all the little details in every one you're doing. Can't wait to see them in the canyon!

I actually based that song in one of my OTGW pictures.
It is pretty much what cemented the beginning of their close bond. Even after all that has happened. They will always have this close bond.
