Description The Turbo Toilet 2000 is one of the villains of the Captain Underpants series, debuting in Attack of the Talking Toilets and making small cameos in several following installments before returning in the 11th. He was accidentally created from a modified 3D printer by George Beard and Harold Hutchins, and easily defeated Captain Underpants, who had no powers at the time. The boys created a Robo-Plunger to trounce TT2000, and the good robot carried his corpse along with his minions to Uranus.

TT2000 was accidentally revived when a kickball launched all the way back in the 5th book decapitated the Robo-Plunger and it spilled its lifeblood into his mouth. Motivated by revenge over the death of his toilet army, TT2000 returned to Earth to destroy humanity. TT2000 was destroyed for good when three hamsterdactyls drop him out of the sky from a great height.

TT2000 had some significant changes upon his return to the series. In Book 2, the narrative referred to him as “it”, with the exception of George’s line: “He’ll rip [Captain Underpants] to pieces!” Book 11 consistently referred to TT2000 with “he/him” pronouns, since he has sentience and isn’t just a mindless robot. The series’ art evolution also brought tweaks to his design. TT2000’s bowl lid (mouth) became pliable outside of Flip-O-Ramas to allow for more facial expressions. Strangely, TT2000 gained a tongue when he originally didn’t have one. The weirdest change is that Pilkey drew TT2000 with a butt, and a big one at that, seen several times to build up to the Flip-O-Rama where Captain Underpants spanks him.

In the movie, TT2000 was a direct invention from Melvin Sneedly before Professor Poopypants repurposed it into a weapon for his plan to eliminate laughter.

19 November is the official United Nations observance of World Toilet Day. This day is to motivate people in solving the global sanitation crisis; there are still many people in this world that don’t have access to a proper toilet. It’s one of the basic luxuries that’s often taken for granted, yet has profound effects on one’s health.

19 November also happens to be my birthday. Yay!

Captain Underpants belongs to Dav Pilkey and Scholastic.
