i know not much has changed, it's because i got scared i'd mess it up
i moved gain v1 to scraps, you can un-fav it if you want, and fav this instead
what i need to do, is go nuts and take some risks in my paintings. so, perhaps there will be a gain v3 in the future. who knows

Really reminds me of the tendency to simply add +favs to people's artworks in DA... after seeing so many "pluses" flying around...

I hate getting scared I'll mess things up, which has halted a lot of stuff, but with most, I dive into whatever nutshit idea I have and it turns out good more often than not, but it has killed a piece on one or two occasions.
But yeah, I like this one. Amazing strength in the subject.

Man, I reeally like this. Really strong image, I have a little bit of cardboard that I wanted to do a painting on and I'd have been really happy if I did something like this. I'll have to come up with something different now

It's a pity you don't live near me, it'd be cool to get a huge sheet of cardboard and do a little impromptu collab
...actually, that's reminded me. Last year in life drawing we did this thing a couple of times where you'd get a group of 3 people each with an A3 page and all their chlks and pencils and stuff, tape the pages together and just start drawing the model. Eventually people are drawing and colouring over the other person's stuff and the 3 people look like they're playing twister, climbing over each other and stuff. It led to some fucking cool, weird-looking pics. Worth a try if you ever find yourself in that situation

Let me give you some helpful words.....
ITS JUST A PAINTING! TAKE BIGASS RISKS! If you really really fuck it up beyond all belief... it will be sad.
But you will be able to try try again.
Half the fun of painting is knowing that you could blow it at any second.... a millisecond can destroy a painting.
You can always try again. or paint over it. or change it.
Sometimes you are supposed to fuck it up... then you go "AHA! now i get whats happening in front of me"
and it becomes an even better painting then you could have ever imagined.
