Lives in rivers, swamps and quagmires in tropical rainforest equivalents, and is amphibious. They are carnivorous and have a wide range of tactics for finding food.
They use their specialised tongue and teeth which grow throughout their lifetime to grasp and crush shelled creatures which live in the sediment at the bottom of their aquatic habitat. Working as groups, they can also catch fish-like creatures that would usually out-swim them.
They also can hide in water like a crocodile, with their nostrils located on the top of their heads. Members of their group herd animals into the water, where the ones waiting drag them below the water and drown them.
