Description
The first one of 3 creature concepts I'm working on..So this creature catches human and "swallows" them.. feeding of the nutrients the body releases during decomp.
I've been experimenting with different techniques over the couple of months.. and trying to loosen up with my painting style

Great concept! The digestion mechanic (which is used IRL by many organisms and plants) is both original in design and makes for a very creepy effect. The idea I really like about this creature having the bodies impaled on the outside is that the bodies of its prey are visible, allowing the characters (or players, if this is game concept-art piece) to see what or WHO has been killed by the Devourer earlier. ("Jess... and the crest of that Devourer... IT'S JOOOHN!!! 
In a way, this would be like having 'trophies' hanging from the body of a monster, but in a different, more unusual way. This would be especially awesome in a game, 'cause there could be dozens of different 'body' renders based on different classes/characters/etc....

I don't get it, is the body impaled on the top? By a giant ... tounge/horn?

impaled.. yes impaled is a good word hehehe, the human is in the process of being digested by the creature

All I could think of when I saw this was 'is that a human torso?'
I really like the design you have here though. Certainly a terrifying beastie. I heartily approve.
