Description
A new character profile for Specteira, Mario's primary companion, from Paper Mario: Double Darkness. Specteira and the Nox Empire (now the Nox Kingdom) have gone through some pretty big writing and worldbuilding revisions to get rid of the evil dark magic theming I had going on. I've also finally started working on designing the special moves Specteira uses in battle, and I'll update this description with in-depth explanations of those abilities soon.

Specteira is the leader of the ancient Nox Kingdom, which ruled the territory of the Mushroom Frontier 3,000 years ago. A wise and determined leader, she treasures her kingdom above all else and will stop at nothing to protect it.
After the game's antagonist, Darkblot, opens a portal to the Nox era from the present, Specteira ends up trapped in the present-day Mushroom Frontier with no way of returning home. There, she meets Mario, who is already trying to defeat Darkblot, and together they come up with a plan to collect the pieces of the Nox portal generator and repair it. Believing that her firsthand expertise on the history of the Nox Kingdom will be useful, Specteira offers to accompany Mario as a guide on his adventure. She can use her Divining to tell the player hints and trivia about Mario's surroundings.
While not technically a partner, Specteira can help Mario in battle with Star Magic abilities, which work similarly to Special moves in previous Paper Mario games, and have effects including healing Mario, damaging enemies, granting Mario extra turns, and boosting the amount of experience enemies drop when defeated. There are twelve spells in the game in all: nine that the player gets automatically at the end of chapters, and three that can be obtained optionally via side quests.
