  My next character profile for Paper Mario: Double Darkness is of the villain, Darkblot. Since he's an enemy, he gets a different profile layout that lists combat stats instead of abilities the player can use.

Darkblot was a mysterious sorcerer from the Nox era 3,000 years in the past. Nobody ever knew who he really was or where he came from; all that was really clear about him was that he was exceptionally skilled at manipulating dark energy, hated light, and especially hated the Nox for harnessing starlight to power their civilization. Throughout the history of the Nox, Darkblot showed up several times to unleash his dark destruction on the kingdom. Each time, he was ultimately defeated and sealed away inside the Pit of 100 Trials, and each time, he somehow escaped again a generation or two later. After the Nox kingdom fell, Darkblot stopped appearing, and it was generally assumed that he would be gone forever. But over the following centuries, his dark energy slowly seeped out from the depths of the Pit.
  At the beginning of the events of the game, Darkblot re-emerges in what is now the Mushroom Frontier, and is appalled to discover that without the Nox Kingdom's perma-night magic, the world has become even brighter. Unwilling to give up, he makes his way to the ruins of the Star Spire, an enormous Nox power plant, and using a portal machine with the power to tear the paper of spacetime, he travels back in time to near the end of the Nox era to conquer their domain for himself. He is briefly confronted by Mario along the way, but escapes by ripping the portal machine into 9 pieces so Mario can't follow him, setting in motion Mario's main quest.
  Darkblot's true nature is revealed in the final chapter of the game. As Mario climbs the ancient Star Spire, he discovers that Darkblot was never a real person, or even a single entity; rather, Darkblot is a manifestation of concentrated darkness, inadvertently created as a waste product of the Nox Kingdom's starlight purification process. Because of this, as long as the Nox Kingdom and its star magic ruled, Darkblot was repeatedly reborn.
  The player fights Darkblot a few times. Darkblot is the boss of the Prologue, presenting the player with their first major combat challenge. He also faces Mario for a second time in a short scripted battle near the end of the game, and possesses Mario's companion, Specteira, in the final boss battle.

That's Darkblot! He's the evil sorcerer that has repeatedly tried to take over the Nox Kingdom throughout its long history. Even after discovering that the kingdom was gone, he travelled back in time to try again! Why is he so determined to wipe us out?! Maximum HP is 30, Attack is 4, and Defense is 0. His main attack is hurling bolts of dark energy, but he can also drain your HP to heal himself. No one knows very much about who Darkblot is or where he came from, really. He just appeared in the Nox Kingdom and started laying waste to our cities and energy reserves, without any clear goal other than destruction. He attacked us many times, and although we always managed to destroy him in the end, somehow he always reappeared before long... Defeating Darkblot has proven to be an extremely dangerous feat in the past, so don’t let down your guard!
