this is a picture of him and his girlfriend.
this is the first time i did a photo-based commission, i think
was done almost entirely in Painter 9 using Artist's Oils: Blender Brush and Tinting Brush for the base. tweaked the bg color in PS.original version with colorful bg: [link]

he wants his girlfriend to wear that dress shown in the picture cos she looks pretty in that dress, he said.. hehehe.. isn't love sweet?

look at the curls in her hair, and how long it is. You are so detailed and have a piercing eye for this type of art. Sometimes I wonder, what do you feel or what are you thinking each time you start on a new one.

well, there were a lot of trial and error using Painter, but somehow i got it work eventually

I have Essentials right now, but I'm thinking of getting the full version sometime soon.
I love Photoshop, but for some reason I can never get it nice and smooth-looking. (like Heise's pictures, they're awesome) Not sure why I haven't figured anything out yet. Do you usually use the soft airbrush for finishing?

i actually after rather rough looking finishing at my recent pictures.. gives more personality to them.. but for smooth looking (in Photoshop), i just used soft round brush for everything.. different brush size will help texturing the shapes and hard round brush in low opacity for the edges so it will not all-blurry looking.
i haven't tried the airbrush in Painter tho.. so far i used Tinting Brush and Artist's Oils.

the painting process itself took no longer than 20 hours, but i changed my mind a lot during.. even scrapped the one that i thought would be "the one", colored that a bit too
