Description Okay... am I the only one who's tired of Ash Ketchum?

Don't get me wrong... I love the guy -- especially back in the day -- but the novelty of the character has really worn out.

Also, I can't be the only one who thought that Gary becoming a Pokémon Researcher and having a total personality change was a cheap cop out. I liked the rivalry between Gary and Ash.

I'd love to see the adventures of his son.

So, I doodled this...

So, I haven't decided on names yet, and some of the designs are based on characters my sisters and I thought of as kids...

BUT YEAH!

From left to right, we have...

Jessie and James' daughter who is a poison type trainer.
Ash and Misty's son who is a variety type trainer.
Gary's son (not sure who the mom is yet) who is a dark type trainer.
And Brock and Lucy's daughter who is a rock type trainer.

So, in my head canon, Gary decides to go back to being a Pokémon trainer. And his rivalry with Ash reignites. Both of their sons are friends though -- even though their dads want them to be competitive with each other. And Jessie and James' daughter is good, because I always felt those two really weren't as nasty as they tried to be. I figure one day they'd retire from Team Rocket and start anew.

SO ENJOY!! (I'll think of names later.)

Also, based on the eyes, it's pretty apparent which characters like each other (in a more romantic way. )

So I had to look up to see who Lucy was (I have rarely watched the anime), and I'm glad to know Brock had at least one girl in love with him!
Anyway, I like your fanchildren, especially Jessie and James's daughter, her charadesgin is very well-thought!

Thanks. It was either going to be Lucy or Sabrina (because she and Brock were a couple in the manga "The Electric Tale of Pikachu.")

They look good.  Yeah Ash needs to be retired and some new trainer be the star. I always thought that Jessie and James could be good one day and that there not really that bad.

Thanks. I agree. Jessie and James definitely had some good in them.

You're not the only one tired of Ash Ketchum. It's even worse with the newer movies where he has to shoehorn himself into the plot, like in that new Hoopa movie.

He's a gimmicky cash cow now. The writers honestly should have retired him after Gen 3 or Gen 4.

They really should have. It's getting tiresome at this point, just seeing his face makes me want to punch him. It's probably no wonder they made Pokemon Origins.

Right? And in that miniseries, Red managed to do everything Ash never could. Is it any wonder why most Pokémon fans like Red better than Ash?

GiantPurpleCat In reply to Porcelain-Requiem [2016-08-27 08:16:57 +0000 UTC]

No wonder at all. Red is the better trainer because he actually did catch them all and he beat the Elite 4 and Blue.
Unlike Ash, he just loses and only caught around 40+ Pokemon through out the entirety of the anime series, which is downright sad.

I know. It's a shame honestly. I really wanted Ash to do well when I first saw the show.

These are very good lovechildren for sure!

And Gary Oak quit being a rival, for real? That's surprising.

I may have an idea for a name for Jesse and James' kid, Myra? Got the name from an outlaw with the same name, as seen here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belle_St…

Thank you.

Yep. He's just a boring professor now.

That might work. I actually like outlaw name -- Belle Starr.

Whelp... kinda' surprising he'd go that route...

I think everyone is agreed that Ash needs to be retired.

I like your character designs. Since they don't have names yet, can I make suggestions?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Porcelain-Requiem In reply to GoblinQueenSelene [2016-08-26 18:23:46 +0000 UTC]

I have ideas for a couple of them. I'm thinking Rose for Jessie and James' daughter, and Grayson "Gray" for Ash and Misty's son.

But suggestions can't hurt.

Ash was great in the original series but oh my God he is so boring now and just about everyone's sick of him!
Nice idea for a new generation!

Porcelain-Requiem In reply to TheRisenChaos [2016-08-26 15:26:10 +0000 UTC]

Exactly. I was pissed when Misty left, but I kept watching it. By about Generation 4 started, I was officially sick of Ash. Then, Brock left and I was done with the series.

TheRisenChaos In reply to Porcelain-Requiem [2016-08-26 15:42:01 +0000 UTC]

Gen 4 was when Ash officially lost all semblance of character. Brock did too, which was why I wasn't sad to see him finally go. But Ash, his Pikachu, and Team Rocket still plague the series even though they're long due for retirement.

Porcelain-Requiem In reply to TheRisenChaos [2016-08-26 15:52:41 +0000 UTC]

At least Team Rocket still retained enough personality to be enjoyable...

TheRisenChaos In reply to Porcelain-Requiem [2016-08-26 16:00:48 +0000 UTC]

I found them to be excruciatingly annoying in Gen 4 for some reason, to the point where sedating their personalities and making them hardcore serious threats in Gen 5 was a welcome change for me. They're alright in Gen 6 but man do I wish they got retired already.

Like I said, I gave up after Gen 4.

Cool Looks Like Jessie and James's kid decided not to go into the family business.  Frankly, I always thought that Jessie and James and Meowth would eventually end up leaving team Rocket anyway to do there own thing.  Maybe even open a proper gym of their own.

I think they settled down after a while. It seems like a fitting end for them.
