"The way your eyes flicker like the endless galaxies above,
It entices me
Calls my name.
They're dreaming of those endless possibilities
With you
With me.
I wanted those lips..
so drenched in sweet rainbow
And all those flavors that I can't imagine.
Because I know beyond that storm
Those iron gates with those
Tiny soldiers marching around
Belting out orders
Tighter security.
I know inside that castle there is a princess
A princess who might be a little rough
Around the edges
Whose maybe a little tomboy
Who wears her converse with her dress.
Though she's mistreated
Not enough love
They don't care
But I do.
I want to hold her
to protect her
to be her knight in shining armor.
But I can't.
Because I am a girl.
I don't have the muscle to wield
A great battle axe
Slay dragons
Beat the bad guy
I don't know how much of a girl I am
But I wish I had the knuckle strength of men.
To save that princess
In my shiny tinfoil suit
My wooden sword at hand
And a heart that's willing to love.
But,
I am a girl."
